Welcome to Bleak House Revisited, a blog by Barbara Rich
I started this blog in November 2024, and chose the title Bleak House Revisited as it draws together strands of my interests that I intend to write about: law, especially the law of later life, death, and inheritance; legal history; literature, and London. I have practised as a barrister in these fields since 1991, having originally studied English literature for my undergraduate degree.
I write for a non-legal readership, and to promote a wider public understanding of the law in my field of knowledge.

Subscription is free and I’m not intending to change to a paid-for model in the foreseeable future.
